What is up with a Personal Guarantee? I got approval for my business on my own credit and assets and now, right before we began my Adventures in Cleaning..the company is insisting that both me and my spouse sign this agreement.
The problem is that my spouse and I separate our assets...always have. I know that this is unusual for a marriage but for my husband and I, this has worked great for the last eight years we have been married. I want this business more than I can say. In fact, I have began dreaming about it (LOL) but, to place my spouse assets (whatever they might be) in danger if I fail (which I firmly believe that I will not) at this business would be unfair and not right to him.
I guess I am wondering is Personal Guarantee's the norm when one spouse has been approved on their own creditworthiness. Maybe someone in cyberspace can chime in and let me know. Thanks, in advance.

Welcome To The Adventures in Cleaning and Life Events Blog
Hello. This is my first blog covering my Adventures in Cleaning and Other Life Events. I guess the first thing I need to do is introduce myself.
My name is Monica, a ex-corporate Retail Sales Manager for two of the four major telecommunications companies. I sold wireless products for over five years and was pretty darn good at it too. I made President's Club, many STAR Awards for excellent customer service standards, many 100% Service Excellence Scores, Data Generation Awards, Top 15% of Retail Stores out of 1500...I could go on and on.
The point of telling this story is how well corporate America treats a "All-Star". At company number 1, I was never promoted, got upset after three years of killing all metrics and went (after starting my Gift Basket Company-Special Gift Baskets for U) to company number 2. Well things were great at company 2 until the Area Manager changed from a really great guy to a witch from the Midwest.
Losing three relatives during this time did not help in the least. My Father and both Grandmother's died within a four month period. I tried to work, please the boss (the witch) and grieve all at the same time. Well, to say that did not work well is a understatement. Regardless, the witch would not quit and I started thinking that maybe it is high time for me to leave corporate America.
Then, I started looking into different business. Four months and 10 businesses opportunities later...I decided to enter the Commercial Cleaning Business. Soon, I will open a Franchised Commercial Cleaning Business in Southeastern Michigan. I am looking forward to telling this life-change story in this blog.
For other life events..my son (the one in the picture) graduated from high school last Thursday and I am so proud of him that he will be standing by me in my blog for awhile. My daughter is a Senior now and she is shouting it to anyone that will listen. Me....I am looking forward to writing in this blog and getting my business to be profitable in the first six months. Feel free to comment on strategies and tips that you think might work for me (on the business level, please) and look forward to sharing my life with you.
